Introduction…

Murray & Roberts Cementation invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Miner General. The successful candidate will report directly to the Shift Supervisor Mining.The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.

Minimum Requirements…

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

  • Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
  • Blasting Certificate of competency
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Medical Certificate of Fitness
  • Team management skills
  • Organisational skills
  • Good communication skills in English

 

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

  • 1+ Years’ experience as a Learner Miner
  • Must have been trained and found competent for the type of mining he/she is requested to do (eg. declines, shaft sinking, stoping, development, etc.)
  • Resourceful problem solver who can work within agreed parameters
